Six Killed in Karachi Clashes After Khamenei Strike During March Towards US Consulate After Khamenei Strike

Karachi, March 1, 2026:
At least six people were killed and several others injured in violent clashes in Karachi on Sunday after protesters marched toward the United States Consulate to protest the reported killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in a joint US-Israeli airstrike, officials and media reports said.

According to local authorities, hundreds of demonstrators gathered in the city following news of Khamenei’s death, chanting slogans and attempting to advance toward the heavily secured diplomatic compound. Police and paramilitary forces used tear gas and batons to disperse crowds after protesters allegedly tried to breach security barriers near the consulate.

Witnesses reported scenes of chaos as clashes escalated, with vehicles damaged and fires breaking out in surrounding areas. Law enforcement officials confirmed fatalities occurred during confrontations between protesters and security personnel as tensions intensified.

The protests erupted hours after international reports confirmed that Khamenei was killed in coordinated strikes by the United States and Israel, an event that has triggered unrest across several countries and raised fears of wider regional instability.

Authorities sealed roads leading to the diplomatic enclave and increased security across Karachi to prevent further violence. Government officials urged calm, warning that attacks on diplomatic missions violate international law and threaten public safety.

The incident reflects growing anger in parts of Pakistan over developments in the Middle East conflict, with demonstrations also reported outside diplomatic facilities elsewhere. Analysts warn that continued escalation between Iran and its adversaries could fuel further protests and security challenges in the region.
