Indian Statement on Balochistan Attack Backs Pakistan’s View
Islamabad — Pakistan’s Foreign Office has said that a recent statement by the Indian government in response to the Balochistan terrorist attack “effectively confirms Pakistan’s longstanding view of New Delhi’s role” in destabilising the region, underscoring deepening tensions between the neighbouring nuclear-armed states.
In a weekly briefing on Thursday, Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi said that remarks from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, in the wake of the deadly assault in Balochistan province, “confirm Pakistan’s stance” that external actors are fomenting violence in the country’s southwest.

Pakistan has repeatedly accused India of supporting insurgent groups in Balochistan — a charge New Delhi has consistently rejected as baseless and aimed at diverting attention from Islamabad’s internal security challenges. Andrabi referenced the most recent wave of attacks in the region, saying India’s reaction appeared to align with accusations that New Delhi favours extremist activities to undermine Pakistan’s stability.
The spokesperson also drew attention to the 19th anniversary of the 2007 Samjhauta Express attack, arguing that Indian authorities had failed to hold key accused individuals accountable. He described this as evidence of a systemic tolerance for extremist violence with potential cross-border effects.
Pakistan’s foreign ministry reiterated its call for fair trials and accountability, asserting that justice for victims of terrorism within and beyond its borders remains a priority amid persistent regional mistrust.
