ISLAMABAD: Tensions erupted at the IHC when Chief Justice Sardar Sarfraz Dogar exited the courtroom as CM Sohail Afridi attempted to address him, leading PTI leaders to decry the court as “a closed door” for their legal team.
According to Afridi, he stepped to the rostrum after official efforts to secure a meeting proved futile. His greeting to the chief justice went unreturned. Despite waiting more than an hour, he said, he was met with complete silence.
The chief minister explained his purpose was to demonstrate PTI’s commitment to peaceful political expression. “After exhausting all available avenues, we will hold peaceful protests — it is our constitutional right,” he told reporters outside the court.

He cited a separate case regarding the social media platform X where the court directed a reply without allowing him to meet his client .
“The Islamabad High Court has effectively become closed to us.” Here we can file petitions, but they are not heard,” Raja said, adding that Afridi, representing 45 million people, attempted to speak but was ignored .
Raja confirmed the party would approach the Supreme Court, emphasizing, “The case of Imran Khan will have to be fought by the nation and the people” .
Meanwhile, police confiscated and deleted a video recorded of CM Afridi in the court corridor before returning the phone to the individual .
