The Men’s Snowboarding Slopestyle competition at the 2026 Winter Olympics took place at the spectacular Livigno Snow Park in Valtellina, Italy — one of the most electrifying venues of Milano Cortina 2026. Slopestyle, a crowd-favorite snowboarding event, combined high-flying tricks, technical rail skills, and fierce competition as the world’s best riders battled for Olympic glory.

Event Format & Atmosphere

Snowboard slopestyle challenges athletes to descend a course packed with rails, jumps, and obstacles that demand a blend of style, creativity, and precision. Competitors have three runs in the final, with their highest-scoring run counting toward the podium. Judges assess each run based on difficulty, execution, variety, and fluidity, making it one of the most dynamic judged events at the Winter Games.

A heavy snowstorm earlier in the Games affected scheduling, pushing the men’s final to 18 February 2026 after the qualifiers on 15 February. Despite the weather challenges, the stage was set for some of the sport’s biggest stars to shine.

Champion & Podium Finishers

In a memorable performance, Su Yiming of China captured gold medal honors, marking a historic achievement and delivering an exciting and technically masterful set of runs. This victory not only added to Su’s Olympic legacy — he had previously won silver in Beijing 2022 — but also became China’s first gold medal in the sport at these Games.

The full men’s slopestyle podium was:

  • Su Yiming (CHN) – Winning points: 82.41

  • Taiga Hasegawa (JPN) – Narrowly edged behind Su with 82.13

  • Jake Canter (USA) – Took bronze with 79.36 in his first Olympic appearance.

Standout Performances and Storylines

Beyond the medalists, several athletes delivered noteworthy performances:

  • Taiga Hasegawa of Japan thrilled the crowd with a near-gold performance, showcasing the depth of talent in international snowboarding.

  • Jake Canter, representing the United States, celebrated his first Olympic medal in his Olympic debut — a testament to his rapid rise on the world stage.

  • Marcus Kleveland (NOR) and veteran Mark McMorris (CAN), both strong contenders, showed flashes of brilliance but were unable to land podium finishes this time.

The field of 12 finalists, featuring riders from countries as diverse as Norway, Canada, Japan, China, and the United States, reflected the global growth of snowboarding and the increasingly competitive nature of the discipline.

Viewership and Legacy

Held at a picturesque Italian venue and broadcast worldwide across multiple networks and streaming platforms, the men’s slopestyle event provided thrills for fans both on site and around the globe. Although snowstorms tested organizers and athletes alike, the Resilience and skill of the competitors ensured the event remained one of the highlights of the snowboarding program at Milano Cortina 2026.

As Olympic slopestyle continues to evolve, athletes are pushing boundaries with more technical tricks, inventive trick lines, and jaw-dropping aerial maneuvers — setting the stage for even more excitement at future Games.
