Bilawal Calls for Women’s Empowerment on Women’s Day
Karachi, March 8, 2026: Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, on Sunday called for stronger policies and collective efforts to ensure women’s empowerment across Pakistan while marking International Women’s Day.
In a message issued on the occasion, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that women’s empowerment is essential for building a just, progressive, and prosperous society. He emphasised that the PPP has always stood for women’s rights and played a historic role in advancing gender equality in the country.
The PPP chairman highlighted that women in Pakistan continue to face social, economic, and political challenges, and stressed the need for equal opportunities in education, employment, and leadership. He added that empowering women is not only a matter of justice but also a key driver of national development.

Bilawal said the party remains committed to strengthening laws and policies that protect women from discrimination and violence. He paid tribute to women across Pakistan who continue to struggle for their rights and recognition, noting that their courage and resilience inspire efforts to build a more inclusive future.
