Appoints Adeeb Ahmad as K-Electric Interim CEO

K-Electric has appointed Adeeb Ahmad as its Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective immediately. The decision was made during a meeting of the company’s Board of Directors held on Friday, February 13, 2026.

The appointment follows the earlier announcement made at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on February 6, 2026. Adeeb Ahmad replaces Syed Moonis Abdullah Alvi, who previously served as CEO.

Extensive Leadership and Investment Experience

Adeeb Ahmad brings more than 34 years of professional experience spanning senior leadership and C-suite roles. His professional journey has largely focused on private equity, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and spearheading major transformation initiatives within the energy and infrastructure sectors.

He has worked across multiple regions, including the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Turkey, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Southeast Asia, and Pakistan. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with leading investment banking institutions in both the GCC and Pakistan, spearheading numerous M&A transactions, privatizations, and capital-raising assignments.

Most recently, Ahmad served as Chief Executive Officer of Hascol Petroleum Limited.

He has also held senior leadership roles at the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD) in Saudi Arabia, where he served as Senior Advisor to the CEO and Deputy CEO-Designate.

Academic Background

Adeeb Ahmad holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), United Kingdom, and an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration Karachi.

His appointment comes at a pivotal time for K-Electric as the company continues to navigate operational, regulatory, and sector-wide challenges within Pakistan’s evolving energy landscape.
